Orenco Station Named Best New "Burb"

The category: New housing developments that feel like real communities.
The stats: 15 miles west of Portland; population about 2,600. On the edge of the “Silicon Forest” — home to such high-tech giants as Intel and Lattice.
Why Orenco Station: We see suburbs becoming more diverse, more interesting, more neighborly, and more like complete communities instead of just bedrooms. Some,

The story behind the burb: The award-winning 260-acre development, begun in 1997, focuses on the pedestrian and light-rail commuter rather than the classic car-centric suburbanite. Starting May 2nd and running straight through October 31st, the farmer's market offers plenty of fresh food and great company. One of the best parts about the farmer's market is the entertainment. 3/8/2010 10:17:01 AM: Our new officers were elected to serve their one-year term, beginning this March.
The new president is Rosie Curry from Sterling Savings Bank. She'll be joined by president-elect Dr. Daniel Krueger from Symtrio Chiropractic Clinic, secretary Clarissa Jones from PacTrust, and Ken McNeil from McNeil & Goldstein, Attorneys will continue as our treasurer.
